The Nuevos Ministerios commuter train station (1) is very close to the CSIC (2). Besides being connected to three subway stations, most of the Madrid commuter train lines make a stop there, specifically, the following:

  • C-1 (Príncipe Pío - Atocha - Chamartín - Aeropuerto T4)
  • C-2 (Guadalajara - Alcalá de Henares - Atocha - Chamartín)
  • C-3 (Aranjuez - Atocha - Chamartín - El Escorial)
  • C-4 (Parla - Atocha - Chamartín - Cantoblanco - Alcobendas / Colmenar Viejo
  • C-7 (Alcalá de Henares - Atocha - Chamartín - Príncipe Pío - Atocha - Chamartín - Fuente de la Mora)
  • C-8 (Atocha - Chamartín - Villalba - Cercedilla)
  • C-10 (Villalba - Príncipe Pío - Atocha - Chamartín - Fuente de la Mora)

The following lines do not stop at Nuevos Ministerios, so you would need to exchange trains in Atocha (C5) or Cercedilla (C9):

  • C-5 (Móstoles el Soto - Atocha - Fuenlabrada - Humanes)
  • C-9 (Cercedilla - Cotos)

You can look at the full map of the Madrid commuter train network here.

Likewise, Nuevos Ministerios station is connected directly with both Atocha and Chamartín stations, from where you can take long distance trains, both regional and high speed.
